Shannon Haney-Jenkins M.A. LMFT, LCAS
I treat couples, families, and individuals (teens and
adults) with a range of challenges including: Anxiety, depression,
behavioral problems, mood disorders, communication problems, marital/relationship issues, sexual dysfunction, parenting difficu
lties, and family adjustment during and/or after divorce. I also provide family therapy and assist families in healing, improving, and strengthening relationships within families.
Additionally, I am a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist. I work with teens, adults and families dealing with past or present alcohol/substance abuse.
My
approach to therapy is to treat the whole person and/or family. I
believe that lasting changes are more effectively achieved when a
person's problems are understood as existing within the context of
relationships rather than within the individual. I use a collaborative approach and
place a high value on listening to my clients and their needs.
Throughout therapy, I give them the tools and skills that are necessary
to implement change in their lives. I believe that we each have what we need within us to heal, be whole, and achieve the changes that we want. In approaching work with my clients, I integrate
several approaches including family systems, solution-focused,
emotion-focused, structural, and cognitive-behavioral therapies to meet
clients' specific therapeutic needs.
I am Licensed as both a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. I
graduated from Appalachian State University with a Masters of Arts in
Marriage and Family Therapy and a Clinical Addictions Certificate. I
graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Cultural Anthropology.
Erin Moncure M.S., LPC, LMFT
I
work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families who are confronted
with a wide variety of life challenges, including: anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, eating
disorders, depression, marital difficulties, divorce, and difficult life
transitions. My primary approaches to
counseling are family systems, solution-focused, cognitive, and behavioral in
nature. I use an integrative approach of
these theoretical orientations.
My
counseling practice is influenced by my belief that people can change if they
have enough motivation, support, and structure to understand the emotions,
thoughts, behaviors, and beliefs which influence their interpersonal
dynamics. Change will sometimes be easy
and swift, but more often it will be slow and deliberate.
I
am currently licensed both as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed
Marriage and Family Therapist. I am
currently an AAMFT Approved Supervisor Candidate. I received a Masters of Science in Marriage
& Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Bachelors of Arts
in Psychology from the University of Virginia.
Christy Sullivan M.S., LPC
I work with children (ages 3 and up), adults and families dealing
with a variety of symptoms and disorders including mood disorders, depression,
anxiety, behavioral concerns (i.e. ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders) psychotic
disorders, PTSD, recovery following trauma/illness, and women’s issues (i.e.
infertility and postpartum depression). I also work with individuals to make
changes in, improve, and cope with a variety of life stresses including
relationship, job/career stress, and stress resulting from major life changes
including illness. I have
specialized training in treating co-morbid disorders of developmental
disabilities and psychiatric disorders.
I provide individual and family counseling to
address a range of concerns. My approach is person
centered and solution focused. I aim to include my client in the process
of setting their own goals and discovering the solutions to their
problems. I believe that you are the expert in your life and that you
possess many strengths that can help you overcome your current
challenges. I utilize Cognitive behavior Therapy and similar approaches
to help you discover how your own thoughts are impacting your feelings and
behaviors. We will work together to restructure those unhelpful thought
patterns to improve your feelings and behaviors. Play and art therapy
interventions are central to my approach when counseling children and
adolescents.
